…vows to resist external influence in Saturday’s guber poll
A group with interest in good governance and development, the Participation Train For Development Initiative (PTFDI), on Thursday, warned the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, to steer clear of Edo politics and abort his planned trip into the state to action the rigging plot of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of Saturday’s gubernatorial election in the state.
In a statement, State Coordinator of the group, Festus Ibizugbe, said Edo people have vowed to resist any external influence in the forthcoming election
According to the PTFDI, “Ovie Omo-Agege should not bother to fly that plane to Benin as we will mobilise members of our group as well as Edo citizens to the airport to ensure that he doesn’t get down from that plane should he insist on flying to Benin.”
The statement reads: “Leaders of Participation Train For Development Initiative are calling on the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege who we understand is on his way to Benin to immediately abort that evil trip he is making to Benin.
“We understand that he is coming to solidify the rigging arrangement he made with Dr. Muhammed Mustafa Lecky, who is the INEC national commissioner and who is also married to Ovie Omo-Agege’s sister.
“We want to use this medium to give a stern warning to Omo-Agege to steer clear of Edo election because this election is very serious and sensitive to our people, who have since decided and we would not tolerate any external influence.
“Edo people have vowed to resist any external influence in this election and we will speak with one voice on Saturday to show our collective resolve to bury godfatherism in Edo State.”
