Premier League confirms another COVID-19 case

The Premier League has announced that another person has tested positive for the novel coronavirus after the latest phase of mass testing.

The English top-flight league confirmed this in a statement via its official website on Wednesday.

The statement read: “The Premier League can today confirm that on Monday, June 8 and Tuesday, June 9, 1,213 players and club staff were tested for COVID-19. Of these, one has tested positive.

“No specific details as to clubs or individuals will be provided by the League and results will be made public after each round of testing.”

DAILY POST recalls that one person tested positive for COVID-19 last week.

The Premier League will resume on June 17.
