Ize-Iyamu’s in-laws urge APC candidate’s wife to distance self from campaign, imminent calamity

The families of Prof. Idia Ize-Iyamu, wife of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the September 19, 2020 gubernatorial election in Edo State, have urged their daughter to distance herself from the aspiration of her husband so that she will not rubbish the name of her family and jeopardise her career.

According to the family, their daughter who is a professor at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), has so much to lose with the way the campaigns are going.

“She has invested so much in her marriage to Osagie Ize-Iyamu. We are a noble family, known for honour in Benin City and we would not want our family name to be dragged in the mud with her husband, who is known by everyone in the state and beyond as a cultist and a looter,” Pa Aimua Osemwende, who spoke on behalf of the family said.

The family added: “We know the APC candidate will not win this election because he is clearly not a good candidate. Obaseki is the name on everybody’s lips in Edo State. So, we do not want our daughter to share in the calamity that will befall Osagie Ize-Iyamu on September 19th.

“Even when our daughter does not complain about the maltreatment from her husband, we know that it has not been an easy journey for her. So we have told her that she has done enough and should distance herself from the electioneering campaign. Osagie, her husband, has nothing to lose, but our daughter has so much to lose to the APC’s shenanigans.”
