There are clear indications that the case instituted in Portharcourt High court against the governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, barring him from participating the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP`s governorship primary has been dropped, as the plaintiff, Rt. Hon Omoregie Ogbeide-Iyama is said to have been stepping down for the governor.
A member of the PDP national exco, a close associate to the governorship aspirant who spoke to OLIKA REPORTERS NEWS confirmed that the issue is being settled and that the governor will surely contest in the primary tomorrow.
He said: “As we speak they are putting finishing touches & dotting the i’s & crossing the t’s and I can assure you Obaseki will be contesting tomorrow”.
When asked if the aspirant has stepped down for the governor, the PDP Chieftain who did not want his name mentioned said; “It’s true but it’s not official yet”
