Berger Paints supports Lagos to combat coronavirus

Berger Paints has announced its support for the Lagos State Government in the fight against coronavirus.

In a statement issued by the company and seen by Nairametrics, Berger Paints had donated buckets of paints that the government can use to build more isolation centres to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.

The company also stated that the donation was in line with its philosophy as a responsible corporate citizen and as part of its strategic partnership with the Lagos State Government.

Speaking on the donation, the Managing Director of Berger Paints Nigeria Plc, Mr. Anjan Sircar, explained that the donation was given with the intention of reducing the financial burden of providing decent accommodation for the victims of the Coronavirus pandemic.

He also said that the crisis at hand calls for all stakeholders to put heads together and help in drawing up solutions rather than waiting for the government alone to do the work.

“We are proud to be part of the urgent processes that will enhance lasting solution to eliminate the scourge of Coronavirus in Nigeria. This is the basis upon which the board and management approved the donation of our products to the Lagos State Government towards building more isolation centres to be established in the state.

“As a good corporate citizen, we identify with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his administration on the on-going rigorous efforts being made to curtail further spread of this coronavirus in the state. Our support is consistent with our corporate social responsibility policy,” Sircar said.
