Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, is keeping tabs on Gent’s Jonathan David as a possible replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Goal reports.
Aubameyang will enter the final year of his current contract with the Gunners this summer.
His strike partner Alexandre Lacazette will have two years left.
However, it is the future of Aubameyang that is a matter of concern for the club’s hierarchy.
The Gabon striker has been linked with Barcelona and Inter Milan and could leave if Arsenal fail to qualify for the Champions League again.
It has led to Arteta looking at 20-year-old David, who has scored 23 goals in 39 games this season.
Gunners scouts have been impressed by the Canada international, who moved to Belgium two years ago from Ottawa Internationals.
The forward does not have a release clause in his contract, but a bid of around £17.5 million ($23m) is expected to be enough to tempt Gent into doing business.
