Arrest Oshiomhole now, Edo APC Chieftains tell IGP

Some chieftains of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ward 2 of Oredo Local Government chapter of the APC in Edo State, want the Inspector General of police to arrest the national chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole fanning the embers of crisis in the state. They also appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to call him to order to stem calamity for the party in the state.

Addressing a press briefing in Benin City, the Edo State capital, the aggrieved members speaking through their spokesperson one Baba Franco accused Comrade Oshiomhole, who is the immediate former governor of the state, of impending the good governance intentions of the incumbent governor, Godwin Obaseki.

They also urged Governor Obaseki to arrest Comrade Oshiomhole based on the alleged corrupt activities of the later while in office.

” I appeal to President Muhammad Buhari, to call him to order before the reputation of our great party is muddled with mud due to the undemocratic credentials of the national chairman, which has found expression in multiple crises in several states in the country including imposed congresses and skewed primaries.”

The party chieftains alleged: “The records are there. He should be arrested. Before he became governor in 2007, Oshiomhole was a tenant at Gapiona Road.

“Today he has properties  all over the world: a hospital  in Atlanta, USA, an N10billion mansion in his village,  Iyamoh and property at Okoro-Otun.”

“Oshiomhole converted a lot of state properties into his personal property. Take the case of the house along Reservation road and the controversial former University of Benin Staff quarters which he took over forcibly for the state but has now converted into his personal use.

“No governor in the history of Edo state has taken over state land/property for himself like Oshiomhole did especially prime properties which I think the governor should now look into in the public interest and as well as for justice sake.”
